Make Room: The all-NEW Nissan X motion is here!

Shrouded in much of a mystery for this year’s 2018 North American International Auto Show, Nissan finally revealed their 2019 newest concept, the Nissan X Motion. Nissan choose to announce this concept during a press conference during the NAIAS instead of leaking any preliminary footage or imagery like most automotive manufactures beforehand.

What is the Nissan X Motion?

The Nissan X Motion is undoubtedly a prototype of a crossover SUV concept. Pronounced Cross Motion, the Nissan X motion is a 6-passenger, three-row SUV that combines Nissan’s signature Japanese craft and design themes and American utility known to the Nissan SUV segment.

"In the Xmotion concept, we explored the more rugged and powerful side of Nissan Intelligent Mobility. Bold and powerful forms and proportions are, upon closer inspection, contrasted with aspects of traditional Japanese craftsmanship expressed in a contemporary way," said Alfonso Albaisa, senior vice president of global design at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.

What’s Inside the X Motion?

  • Vehicle buyers are in for a real treat with the new X Motion. The concept’s crafted designed is made to symbolize Japanese landscape will incorporating advanced graphics and autonomous driving. Some of the X Motion’s interior features are:
  • An interior created with the imagery of a river on the floor, with the center console acting a bridge
  • A total of seven  digital screen portions
  • A digital room mirror in the ceiling and a center consul display
  • The displays and infotainment system can also be controlled by gestures and eye movement
  • Intuitive controls a voice command system made to allow drives to focus on driving, helping them access various information in an easy, smart and safe manner.

At its reveal, Nissan officials said the looks are likely to show up in future SUVs but wouldn't commit to whether the next Rogue or Pathfinder will be based on it. What is for sure is "We envision the Xmotion concept to be a highly functional SUV that can be driven every day, yet can take the owners and friends to a national park or recreation area on a whim," Albaisa said. "With its combination of style and technology, this concept fulfills Nissan's mission of moving people to a better world."
